We didn't realise this was a sequel, and there were quite a few characters making appearances who we didn't know. After the Stranger's plan is revealed, miles spends more time being frustrated than trying to save the world.

It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you. While I didn't necessarily like the villain in this one as much as the first one, we still get that signature Miles energy. Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. As with the first Miles Morales graphic novel, Shock Waves, the action is relentless and dialogue smart and funny.Miles and Ganke interacting does all of the heavy lifting in this one, their scenes together being really the only enjoyable ones. This was such a fun read but also really moving, with some brilliant messages about mental health and dispelling toxic masculinity. It's a good way to make comics accessible to kids who might otherwise be intimated by the sheer volume of Marvel comics there are out there. I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books.

Enjoyed this second installment in the series but still confused about how the villain was defeated. The Stranger plans to freeze people in a state of unexplained hibernation and then turn half the population against the other half. Pablo Leon gives texture and just the right amount of fun details in Mile’s surrounding both on earth and in spaceships. I choose to read this book because Into the Spider-Verse 2 is coming out soon and I wanted to get into the mood to seeing the film. Overall Miles Morales: Stranger Tides is an entertaining continuation of Miles Morales as Spider-Man.His debut novel published by Katherine Tegen Books was an Indies Introduce selection, a School Library Journal Best Book, has been translated in seventeen languages, and is being developed for film with Paramount Players. Not everyone who is frozen is playing video games; some, like Miles' uncle, are accidentally exposed. He hangs out in northeast Ohio with his family, and is probably somewhere dancing terribly, or as his sister likes to say "doing the sports". At its heart, the story lifts up the real-world consequences of a series of natural disasters to the proud people of Puerto Rico, challenging us all to recognize our shared responsibility.

The actual ending felt tacked on and the Stranger is beat in no time even though he's a Fantastic Four level villain. B. Cebulski is doing such an awful job that the overall quality of work coming from the House of Ideas is severely lacking. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! But the new villain Stranger separates Miles from his support system he must be open to new partnerships and new ways to fight for his family. The Stranger freezes half of mankind via a video game, and here is where Miles Morales gonna save us all. Their banter and intimacy toes the bromance line as most comic relationships are apt to do, but moreover it’s always great normalizing boys saying “I love you” to their friends, genuinely caring for one another’s mental health, etc.

It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything.

Shock Waves, the predecessor of this book, had a solid plot and I really enjoyed the art and characters. Weaknesses: It's helpful to be familiar with the first book; this was a bit confusing at first even though I had read that one.
