Bought it just over a year ago but it has only had a couple of days (non continuous) use when I first got it just to test it as it was bought just in reserve in case an existing heater failed. I use them with Wemo plug sockets to allow me set timers and switch them on or off remotely, very useful for heating up my outbuilding on a frosty morning. Common to all heaters of this type it's obviously not ideal to have the thermostat right next to the heater, but it serves a purpose, and can be trusted to maintain a reasonable temperature. Thoroughly recommend this machine - it's silent in operation and pretty compact BUT (there's always a 'but') why is there no indication that this machine is painted in what is best described as 'Battleship' grey and not white?

The safe design also fills you with confidence about using these heaters anywhere, and leaving them on near to clothes or kids and so on. Have a very cold bedroom in our stone-built cottage that measures 4x4 metres with a 'cathedral' ceiling and needed a supplementary heater for the oil-fired central heating which is not on all the time.On first turn on, it does give off a not particularly bad, but strange smell, almost like a new plastic smell when you first turn on new electronics. Made to be used over longer periods of time compared with inferior radiators, the Vento uses diathermic oil to release heat gradually, while a chimney effect strongly pushes the outgoing airflow, making the air hotter and circulate around the room more. Other than that this is a good reliable product and the heat it gives off is a long lasting comfortable heat far superior to fan heaters. I gave it 4 out of 5 because as there are no handles or anything to grip that isn't warm when it heats up, you can't really move it unless you get a towel or slide it along the floor on a mat.

All that the kWh rating dictates is how much energy can be input into heating the oil to a desired temperature. It has three variable heat settings and an adjustable room thermostat to set and maintain the desired temperature, as well as an anti-frost function and an overheat safety protection feature. The above review I made on or around 26/4/2013 and have used this oil filled radiator ever since and the winters here are very, very cold!It features the "Venturi Effect", in which an internal chimney-like structure increases convective air flow. If this is going to be your primary heating device for a large space I would maybe look for something a little bigger, however for a normal sized room its perfect.
