This piece, part textbook, part novel, and even with a slice of journal, offers the reader a varied view on murder and how to execute it properly, if you will pardon the pun. I was so impressed that the rocket ship that they're in, the one with HAL piloting, when you first saw it and you got closer and closer and closer to it, it was the first time a rocket ship in a movie didn't look like a toy. For those of you who do not know Colombo, he was a police detective on a long running tv series, his cases where always very very complicated and he meticulously puzzled out each piece. I was gripped by Cliff's story and by the time we got to the McMasters conservatory I was completely in the book's clutches. The good part in this book is that all McMasters’ students have their reasons to delete and we experience their emotional struggles.

However, I do feel that the pace does slow down considerably in parts owing to excessive detail (mostly in the first half of the novel) which also renders the narrative a tad too lengthy. Welcome to The McMasters Conservatory for the Applied Arts - a luxurious, clandestine college dedicated to the fine art of murder where earnest students study how best to delete their most deserving victim.

Dust jacket hand covered in protective archival grade Mylar for years of worry free collecting/reading! The second half sees our three main characters back in their home environments ready to carry out the deletion. His first novel, “Where the Truth Lies,” made into a feature film starring Colin Firth and Kevin Bacon, also has a body count. It's also a story I didn't want to end, so apparently I'm a touch on the fickle-side about this listen. The author also tried to imply a little bit of a romance, or at least an interest, between Gemma and Cliff. Cliff uses some of his time to reassess the foibles of his attempted killing of an immediate superior, as he tries to concoct how he would re-commit the murder. I can’t wait to read more by this author – and hopefully more from the McMasters Conservatory of Applied Arts.
