Amber in colour, the nose is initially very sweet, showing creme caramel, caramelised fruit sugars, wood sugar, toffee and fudge before some apple and peach come through. Glen Scotia single malts are excellent examples of the Campbeltown style, with rich and subtly maritime, with tropical and baked fruit notes and salty finish that set them apart from other Scotch malts. For everyone from the amateur whisky fan to the connoisseur, our gift set collection holds the answer on how to make those special occasions even more special. It has also spent some finishing time in sherry casks, giving the whisky body and spice, while the distillery’s proximity to the coast has also given the whisky a salty quality.

Both tulip-shaped glasses, such as Glencairn glasses, and traditional Copita glasses are excellent choices. From Campbeltown's Glen Scotia comes Campbeltown Harbour, a little nod to the maritime nature of the whisky. An elegant metal coin of the Glen Scotia entwined ‘GS’ logo is set into the shoulder of the bottle, which is presented in a display box ideal for collectors or gifting to someone special. In the event of any safety concerns or for any other information about a product please carefully read any instructions provided on the label or packaging and contact the manufacturer. Matured in the finest American oak barrels then married in first fill bourbon casks the final whisky was bottled at a strength of 48. After maturation in first fill Bourbon barrels, the finest casks are selected to create a perfect harmony of mature fruit and spices overlaid with the characteristic sea spray of a Campbeltown malt.

For there was a time when whisky virtually coursed through the streets of the town… with a distillery on every corner, nigh on every inhabitant involved in its creation and boats queuing in the port to carry off casks of Campbeltown single malt scotches so whisky lovers everywhere could enjoy a truly authentic Scottish dram.

Apparently the world capital of whisky in the mid-19th century, Campbeltown now only has a fraction of the distilleries that were producing at its height, and Glen Scotia appears to be the largest. Especially as the master distiller, Iaian McAlister, stated that this was his go-to dram of a Friday evening. Sweet start and quite fat and though the alcohol gives a little tongue-tingling buzz the result is a good mid-palate weight. Glen Scotia is located in the Campbeltown whisky producing region on the Kintyre Peninsula west of Scotland. Matured in a combination of first and second fill bourbon barrels, then finished in PX and heavily charred oak casks, providing a rich layer of flavours.

It’s about the generations of years of craftsmanship, passed down through master distillers and their teams, that have shaped the taste and style of Glen Scotia’s single malt whiskies throughout its history. A lot of the building’s design dating back to the 1830’s has remained the same which includes the fermenter, dunnage warehouse and stillroom. The Glen Scotia 25 year old and the none age statement Victoriana have also won recent notable awards.Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or new to the world of whisky, this set promises an enlightening journey. Easy arrival, honey, vanilla and a touch of smoked salt on the palate, and a long pepper yet sweet finish.
